Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc., is one of the "Big Three" credit-reporting bureaus that operate nationwide. They have been in providing value-added information for more than 106 years!

They first opened their doors in 1899 and they have grown by maintaining a strong focus on strategic growth, product development, and technology innovation. They can deliver powerful solutions to their customers.

Formerly known as the Retail Credit Company. Equifax is an organization widely used by insurers to obtain information on applicants for underwriting purposes and sometimes on claimants. Their reports are known as Retail Credit Reports.

Equifax's principal activities are to provide consumer and commercial credit information. They organize and manage various types of financial, demographic and marketing information. Their products are classified as Information Services, Marketing Services and Consumer Direct.

The Information services allow customers to make credit decisions about consumers and commercial enterprises. Marketing Services information products and databases enable customers to identify a target audience for marketing purposes and Consumer Direct products and services provide information to consumers that enable them to reduce their exposure to identity fraud and to monitor their credit health.

They operate in 13 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Brazil. Information services, Marketing services and Consumer direct accounted for 99% of 2002 revenues and Other services, 1%.
