Managing Your Credit

Once upon a time there was good credit, bad credit and no credit and only one lived happily ever after. The fairy tale dream of our first car, our first home and a good job just won’t come true without good credit.

Good credit can help you not only with the purchase of goods and services but more commonly nowadays it can make all the difference in whether or not you get that job you just interviewed for. Heck, you might even have to consider your credit rating before your significant other decides to say “I do” since that will effect their credit rating as well.

How do you get good credit? This is where the fairy tale takes an interesting turn. In order to get good credit you have to have credit and you need good credit to get credit. Is your head spinning yet?

The building up of good credit can be very confusing especially to our youth who have very little experience with adult finances. Good credit ratings are gleaned from credit card companies, banks and other institutions and places of business that extend credit. The key is to come at this idea of building and managing your credit with a plan.

There are many different ways you can start to build your credit but you must not forget that this isn’t a fast process. It takes many billing cycles for your credit rating to be determined so the earlier you begin the better.

There are many people who manage their money very wisely, pay cash for everything and don’t see the need and don’t have any desire to get a credit card or purchase anything in installments-until they want to purchase their first car or home. Granted, you can do both without credit, by paying in cash, but that is not an option for most of the population.

This website was created to help those who want to find out what their credit is, what their credit score and ratings are and what that says about them, what they can do to build and/or repair their credit and more. Please take the time to read each article and check the links we have provided for access to further information.

Good luck and may your fairytale have a happy ending.
